Lakeside Cottage

Situated on the banks of Schroon Lake in the heart of the Adirondacks, New York, this vacation cottage was designed and built by a family of builders with whom we have done a number of projects. It is a hybrid with timber framing found in the great room, kitchen ceiling, exterior porch, and exterior brackets. The timbers are Douglas fir. The two-story timber-framed great room is comprised of four modified hammer beam bents. The interior members were finished with Watco Clear Natural Danish Oil, and the exterior with Sikkens/Proluxe SRD in cedar color.

The painted fascia, baseboards, and corners give unity and definition to this house.
