Mountain Top Poolhouse

This pool house sits on top of a mountain ridge which affords spectacular 360-degree views. This project marks our fourth with this client. In 2008 we did the timber framing for their house. Later came pergolas for the house and later still a pent roof for the garage.

The pool house contains a hot tub, rest room and gathering area. Except for the restroom walls, glass fills all the openings in the timber frame. The frames were specially designed to resist racking forces. The pergola is backed by a wood burning fireplace.  Although you can’t see this in the photos below, the pergola joists align with the joists on the house pergola, on the other side of the pool. The timbers are Douglas fir, Select Structural, and all are painted.
