New Project – St. Peter the Apostle Church in Philadelphia

by LCTF Admin |  June 12, 2014 |  News
St. Peter the Apostle Church in Philadelphia

On a “design-build” basis rather than by “competitive bid” (a.k.a. lowest bid) Lancaster County Timber Frames, Inc. was selected by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Wohlson Construction to design, engineer, carve and install a six bent hammerbeam  timber frame atrium adjoining St. Peter the Apostle Church & Shrine of St. John Newmann at 5th Street and Girard Avenue.  St. Peters is one of Philadelphia’s oldest and most historic churches. In the “lower” church the body of St. John Newmann lies in state enclosed in glass under the alter of the shrine.
