Gettysburg, PA (July 20, 2010) – The Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center has been awarded Gold certification in the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. The Museum and Visitor Center is one of only four Gold certified LEED museum projects in the nation, and it is the first Gold-certified museum project in Pennsylvania. The LEED Green Building Rating System is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings.
The Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center opened in 2008 and is operated by the Gettysburg Foundation in partnership with the National Park Service. Lancaster County Timber Frames is proud to have been an integral part of the team involved in the the construction of this facility.
