St. Thomas the Apostle Orthodox Church in Waldorf, Maryland

St. Thomas the Apostle Orthodox Church in Waldorf, Maryland
Every so often Lancaster County Timber Frames gets the wonderful opportunity to build a church. Last week we contracted to do the carving and erection of a fully timber-framed church for St. Thomas the Apostle Orthodox Church in Waldorf, Maryland. A year ago we had contracted with PAS Architecture of La Plata, Maryland to execute the frame design and engineering for this church. The design is inspired by traditional Carpatho-Rusyn church architecture and incorporates three multi-tier cupolas.

The frame will be Douglas fir, has a total area of 3,200 square feet. A late autumn raising is scheduled.
