This attached patio in York Pa sits at the back of the house looking directly at the pool. sits on a steep incline overlooking the center of town. Two-thirds of the structure is timber framed; the left wing is conventionally stick framed and houses the mechanicals for the pool and sauna. The timber frame portion holds the kitchen, bar, bath and gathering area.
The timber frame incorporates a large kingpost in both trusses. The The hip rafters sit on dragon beams. The exterior posts which sit on custom cast iron plinths, are 12” x12” timbers lend the aspect of mass. The Select Structural Douglas fir timbers are stained with a dark Sikkens SRD. The ceiling boards are white pine and are whitewashed.
