Lakeside Cottage

Situated on the banks of Schroon Lake in the heart of the Adirondacks, New York, this vacation cottage was designed and built by a family of builders with whom we have done a number of projects. It is a hybrid with timber framing found in the great room, kitchen ceiling, the exterior porch and exterior brackets. The timbers are Douglas fir. The two story timber framed great room is comprised of four modified hammer beam bents. The interior members were finished with Watco Clear Natural Danish Oil, the exterior with Sikkens/Proluxe SRD in cedar color.

The painted fascia, base boards and corners give unity and definition to this house.
