This hybrid timber framed house is in Montauk, at the far eastern tip of Long Island, and is the home of the owner of the oldest cattle ranch in the United States, in continuous operation since 1658.

Lancaster County Timber Frames executed the architectural and timber frame design, helped the client source the timber materials, and even brought him into our shop to work alongside our craftsmen to learn the trade. The timbers are all reclaimed of various species, predominantly oak. Remnants of the original timber framers’ markings and date carvings are visible on many of the timbers. The floor is recycled barn boards.
