John Wright Store & Restaurant

by LCTF Admin |  November 6, 2009 |  News

This past week also, Lancaster County Timber Frames, Inc. completed the erection of a restaurant addition for the John Wright Store & Restaurant in Wrightsville, PA. This is the first phase of a multi-phase project. The next phase will include a conference and event center.

The restaurant is part of the Donsco corporation, and overlooks the historic bridge across the Susquehanna river. The timber frame takes its proportions from the existing masonry and timber structure which is over 100 years old and was originally built to house a silk mill.

Donsco, Inc. is a large foundry with technical and decorative casting products. Â Custom castings were designed by Lancaster County Timber Frames designer Tim Diener and manufactured by Donsco to form and integral part of the timber frame structure. Â Cast iron and heavy timbers have not been widely used together in timber structures for a good many years.
